Absolutely worst dojo experience was at this school. Poor instructors, decrepit facility, bad vibe and overall waste of time.
All folks are advised to search social media for more details on this dojo.

My experience at this dojo was during the late spring where I observed an outdoor training session.
I have never laughed so hard in my life.
Overweight people and a couple of kids swing sticks up and down calling it Japanese fencing.
This dojo always had an unsavory reputation, now I know why!

Like most people who have left feedback on Boston Shinekndo dojo, my experience was not a good one.
I can honestly say the instructor kinda creeped me out.
The space is dirty and run down, the bulk of the students are these fat old guys with Japanese fantasies, you know the type, they claim to speak Japanese and can only say "domo arigato".
These are the types that go to this school
I can't even imagine as serious student of Japanese sword staying at this dump longer than a month.
What a drag it was.
Fruity Leoni

Very poor dojo to study Japanese sword. The review from this "James H" guy is clearly either coerced or bogus. The 10 students that were there when I was all quit at the same time because the instructor was weird and wacky.
He also puts his two young kids in charge of the classes, his daughter can barely lift a wooden bokken, and his son stinks.
Waste of time!I was very disappointed in this dojo. I read all the negative information online but decided to give… Read more11/10/2020 Previous review

I spend a few months at this dojo before I moved back west, I have to say my experience there wasn't very good.
The instruction and training was terrible.
This review from James is only because he is buddies with the instructor and was put up to it.
This dojo is the worst.

I was a student at Boston Shinkendo and when I read the two reviews below from James and Rhonda, that sound eerily similar to reviews posted on Google, it is clear that they were coerced by the instructor to post reviews posting the dojo and extolling its "Family Nature".
The fact is other than these two students posting this, 10 of the "REAL" students all quit at the same time because the dojo is not a professional place to train.
It is full of drama, control freakish behavior of the instructor, poor instruction, inconsistent training schedules, no fun at all, and just a lot of nonsense.
We advise people to do some internet based research first.

Very low rated dojo for Japanese sword, better to attend some of the local Kendo and or Iaido dojos in the Boston area than waste your time at this place.
Spent about 4 months their, huge waste of time. Poor instruction, and a lot of negativity.

Adding to this matter because there seems to be a lot of misinformation going around, especially the fake praise for Boston Shinkendo Dojo.
Forget all the he said she said, the bottom line is this the style is mediocre, it's not a traditional style, the Dojo is not a traditional Dojo, it's small and kind of dumpy, the Sensei is very egotistical borderline Socio path.
I spent seven months there than left in frustration !
I would never go back in with caution others to find another Dojo that's the real deal!
